Reiki Classes

​Dylan is offering all levels of Reiki Practitioner trainings in 2018 and 2019. 

These trainings will meet the needs of people who seek to learn traditional Japanese Reiki, to become a Reiki Practitioner, or who wish to begin or deepen their spiritual practice. 

Dylan has studied with Master teachers from around the world, including Frans Stiene (International House of Reiki, "The Reiki Sourcebook") , Frank Arjava Petter (Jikiden Reiki, "This is Reiki"), Hyakuten Inamoto (founder, Komyo Reiki), Rev. Jyogan Hakata-Kohler and William Lee Rand (The International Center for Reiki Training). In her trainings, she makes traditional Japanese Reiki accessible to the modern learner without diminishing its key teachings.

About Reiki: Usui Reiki is a simple, method of natural health promotion and spiritual development created by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui. In a Reiki session, healing spiritual energy is made available to the recipient, promoting calm, ease and restored vitality.

Level One Shoden Reiki Class
Thursday evenings, 6-9pm: July 19, 2018 x 5 weeks
Contents: Introduction to energy healing, self-healing with Reiki, Reiki history, principles and practices, and Japanese meditation and energy enhancing techniques. This class will give you a solid foundation from which to develop your healing skills. Presentations, discussion, practice sessions, experiential exercises and meditations enhance your learning.
Cost: $295 includes manual and 15-hour class.

Level Two, Okuden Reiki Class
Thursday evenings, 6-9pm: In August and September, for 5 weeks (dates TBD)
Contents: How to extend Reiki healing to others, Usui Reiki symbols, Advanced meditations and techniques, Further uses for Reiki.
Cost: $395. Includes manual and 15-hour class.

Level Three, Shinpiden (Reiki Master) Reiki Class and Level Four, Shihan (Reiki Master Teacher) classes will be offered in January and February of 2019. It is recommended that one practice Reiki for one year prior to taking levels three and four. 

Meditation Classes

"Massage, Meditation and Mindful Movement"

Wednesdays, 6:15-7:30 pm

Dates: This is an every other week class. Upcoming dates: 7.25.18, 8.8.18, 8.22.18, 9.5.18, 9.19.18
Class Information: This class offers you a supportive place to learn and practice a variety of meditations geared towards nurturing inner peace. Mindful movement, stretching, yoga mudras, reflexology and Jin Shin Jyutsu finger holds will be offered to support focus and comfort as well as guided meditations which promote balance, harmony and health. Suggested donation: $5-$25/each class.

"Quick Chill"- A Meditation Class for Busy People

Tuesdays from 4:50 to 5:35 pm
Dates: 6/19-8/21 
Class Information: This 45 minute end-of-day meditation experience will help you get from wound up to chilled out.  Learn and practice different types of meditation focused on relaxation and stress reduction.

Cost: $5.50/class when registered for full session. Fee is pro-rated according to registration date.

"Meditation and Breathing for Stress Reduction and Health"; a wellness presentation for MVP
Friday, July 20, 2018, 10 am-11:30 am
Fee: MVP Member: No charge; Non-Member: $10
Learn how to use meditation and breathing exercises to reduce stress, relax and promote your health. Tips and tools for success will be shared as well as experiential exercises for you to practice during the presentation.

"The Recovering Brain”, a presentation for NCADD/Depaul

Wednesday, October 3, 9am-12pm

Fee: $35. 3 Clock hours of continuing education hours available for CASAC renewal.
This presentation will look at how alcohol and drug use affects the brain and a person's ability to recovery from substance abuse. Strategies for boosting brain health will be shared as well as a review of related research.
